- The qilin, or kirin, is a Chinese mythological creature roughly analogous to the unicorn. So it’s called the Griffin, and the Pegasus – which is easily well-known enough to just be called the Pegasus – has become the Unicorn. It’s… look, it’s the sort of thing you’ve just got to get used to with this show.
