- The Real Ghostbusters, as opposed to those fake Ghostbusters you see lying around. It’s called The Real Ghostbusters because there was already a live-action TV show called The Ghost Busters, and, following the success of the real Ghostbusters, Filmation made an animated series at the same time as The Real Ghostbusters called Ghostbusters.
- Just in case you don’t follow that timeline: There was a show called The Ghost Busters, then the movie, Ghostbusters, which is the one you think of when someone says “Ghostbusters”. Then there were two animated shows, Ghostbusters (based on the original Ghost Busters) and The Real Ghostbusters (based on Ghostbusters). Later, there would be Ghostbusters II (a sequel to Ghostbusters), Extreme Ghostbusters (a sequel to The Real Ghostbusters), and Ghostbusters, a reboot of the Ghostbusters franchise but not the Ghost Busters franchise.
